20 February,2010 - As many may already be aware, the Quality Assurance Committee of the department , as well as the different committees have been very busy addressing various concerns related to the forthcoming Philhealth evaluation for reaccreditation come next month. Each committee holds each own meetings with each members, and periodically updates our department chairman Dr Doris Nambayan-Abad and our QA Section Head Dr. Monina Ozaeta.
The site will try to house all committee developments in their respective pages, after they have been finalized or discussed by the section/committee involved.

Today, the CPGs, Clinical Pathways and Admitting Orders for the 8 most common causes of illnesses which are medical in nature were presented to the department.
14 March, 2009Welcome to the virtual office of Makati Medical Center's Medicine Department!We create this site to provide you , our Medical Staff, anywhere-anytime access to our office and view our recent as well as our past activities particularly those concerning our Residency Training Program.Primarily , this will serve as depository of our department's documents for easier endorsement to its succeeding officers. Expectedly, some pages shall be subject to access restriction, others in further stratifed levels of access as some committees will be.On this site, one will find at least the following subjects:1. The commitment of the department in helping accomplish the mission and vision of the institution, with all its Objectives, Performance Indicators and Quality Plan;2. Departmental Table of Organization, including its Succession Plan and the respective Administrative Duties and Responsibilities;3. Business Process Flow Chart of the Department, including Work Instructions and Job Descriptions of various committees;4. Patient Safety Plan including Departmental Clinical Practice Guidelines / Care Plan (after proper acknowledgment of references/ sources), and in the future the Patient Education Modules.We have started creating a virtual library of all our activities by initially storing our Medical Grand Rounds of last year and we shall attempt to backtrack and retrieve those of previous years and keep them here. We have renamed them according to their respective Diagnoses and we give due acknowledgment to their respective presentors, our Medical Residents in Training. We shall do the same for other presentations like Consultants' lectures.Likewise, the reports / accomplishments / procedures of the various department's committees shall find their safe storage here, subject to appropriate restrictions.Documentations of our social responsibility activities shall also be stored here.
We have received the pictures of most of our Consultant Staff and eventually the Organizational Chart page shall be complete.
Hopefully, this endeavor shall streamline the many things we do for the department by reducing duplication of work, securely storing policies that have been set, and implementing them accordingly. From the many issues raised in the latest JCI meeting held in Milky Way yesterday, as it turns out, all of us, our department included, have our share of garbages ("muda" as Japanese calls it) to define and clean up - be it in time, money, human resources, or infrastructure.The latest JCI committee meeting this morning have allowed us to review these pressing issues.
